Cathy Fournier MA, RMT

Cathy has been a registered massage therapist for 26 years. She incorporates a variety of techniques into each of her treatments, such as Swedish massage, Myofascial Release, Manual Lymph Drainage, NISA (specialized deep fascial work) and Cranio-Sacral Therapy. Before moving to Halifax a few years ago, Cathy was working at an integrative chronic pain clinic at Mt. Sinai hospital in Toronto, where she specialized in complex chronic pain, and in particular chronic pelvic pain in women and men. Cathy continues to specialize in chronic pain, as well as general wellness, injury recovery and pain relief. She is a member of the Massage Therapy Association of Nova Scotia and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.Cathy has also been a massage therapy instructor for over 9 years and has taught numerous workshops to massage therapists and the public, including introduction to massage, Advanced Techniques for the Pelvis, and Cranio-Sacral Therapy.

Cathy will be starting a PhD program at Dalhousie University in September. Her research is focused on integrative medicine in Canada, particularly the integration of complementary and alternative medicine into medical settings.
